Aqueous Potassium Chloride Zinc Plating Process
Nov 16,2020

Potassium chloride zinc plating is now a very mature process. Compared with alkali zinc, it has many advantages such as high current efficiency, good leveling, good brightness, low price and so on.
Take the 940 acid zinc process of Dazhi Chemical as an example. Potassium chloride zinc plating regular consists of: potassium chloride, zinc chloride, boric acid, the main light agent, softener. Potassium chloride is used as a conductive salt, and its concentration is controlled at 200-230g/L. Potassium chloride must use high-quality manufacturers supply, reduce impurities. Zinc chloride is used as a source of zinc ions and is controlled at 40-60g/L. Boric acid as a buffer, the pH value of the plating solution is relatively stable between 4.5 and 5.5. Its concentration is controlled at 25-60g/L. The softener plays a role in improving the toughness and depth of the coating, allowing the plating solution to move better and reducing the scorch in the high current area. The main light agent can improve the brightness and flatness of the coating.
Softeners and light agents will decompose and precipitate at high temperatures to make the solution turbid, and as the concentration of potassium chloride increases, its cloud point will be lower. 940 acid zinc process cloud point can reach 60 ℃, but daily production in order to ensure the quality of production, acid zinc production should be equipped with cooling equipment to ensure that the production temperature in the range of 15-30 ℃.
Zinc acid usually produces a large amount of foam in production, and the foam may entrain copper, lead, oil and other impurities on the line into the tank, and also affect the site environment. The 940 zinc acid of Dazhi Chemical is a low foam process. In addition, the 940 acid zinc process has good washing performance, bright white coating, barrel plating and hanging plating can be used, etc.
